Deputies add US$80M to finish Palomino Dam
SANTO DOMINGO.- The Chamber of Deputies yesterday approved 88 votes for and 9 against the amendment to the loan contract to build the Palomino Hydroelectric Dam, raising it US$80 million, from US$50 million to US$130 million.

Naval officer killed the 7 Colombians in Bani, witness testifies
Santo Domingo. - Air Force colonel Manuel Peña Labourt testified yesterday that former Navy lieutenant Andres Tapia Balbuena had confessed that the also Navy lieutenant Edward Mayobanex Rodriguez Montero was the one who shot and killed the seven Colombians in Paya, Bani (south) in August, 2008.
