Due to its year-round warmth and sunshine, some people refer to the Dominican Republic's climate as “endless summer."

The temperature on the island remains fairly consistent at around 77 F / 25C throughout the year. Generally, the whole island is sunny with tropical weather.

May to October is usually the hottest time of the year. Highs reach about 87 F / 30C during the day, with the nighttime low around 72 F / 22C.

November to April is slightly cooler with the temperature about 81 F / 27 C in the afternoon and around 72 F / 22 C in the night-time.

May is the month when the island sees the most rainfall, which usually comes in short showers followed by sunshine. Most of the rain occurs at sunrise, late in the afternoon or at night. Thus, you should make sure to pack lots of sun-block and a hat for the sun.
